What is Poetry Month?

"National Poetry Month is a month-long celebration of poetry, with annual events taking place nationwide in April. Established by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, the goal is to increase the visibility of the poetic form, as well as to increase access to it."

Poetry Reading and Jazz Band

Come on Monday, April 20 at noon to the COS library in Visalia for the COS Jazz Band performance and poetry reading by:

Laurie Ann Guerrero, poet from San Antonio,
winner of the 2012 Andrés Montoya Poetry Prize
and
David Campos, poet and COS adjunct faculty, 
winner of the 2014 Andrés Montoya Poetry Prize 

Note: COS Bookstore will bring the copies of David's and Laurie Ann's books to the event for purchase and signing.
